New PET production plant in Chile

 

Inauguration of our new PET production plant Interpet S.A. in Chile

 

We had the great pleasure to celebrate on November 24th 2006, the official inauguration of the new Fromm PET straps production plant in Santiago de Chile.

 

The ceremony was stated by our President Mr. R. Fromm, by our joint venture partner Mr. José Miguel Garibaldi and by the general manager of Interpet, Mr. Frank Wernicke.

 

Invited of honour was the Chilean State President Mrs. Michelle Bachelet who closed the act with the traditional tape cut.

 

Mr. Fromm underlined in his speech, the importance of this intercontinental movement for Fromm Holding and he expressed his gratitude to our joint venture partners and to our local staff. Furthermore he mentioned that INTERPET S.A. builds a production platform that will supply the complete Latin-American continent with our PET straps, along with Fromm strapping tools and equipment.

 

Mr. José Miguel Garibaldi remarked in his speech the strategic importance of such a factory for the Latin-American market and the successfully transfer of production and quality high tech. He referred also to the long and solid friendship with Mr. Fromm and thanked him for his confidence on his family business.

 

The general manager, Mr. F. Wernicke, mentioned the crucial value of the company as an example of environmental and effective production unit, which shall active contribute in the future to re-process and to eliminate more than 10’000 tons of waste in Chile on his final stage.

 

The ceremony was closed with the speech of the Chilean President Mrs. Michelle Bachelet who expressed her gratitude to Mr. Reinhard Fromm for his encouraged investment and technology transfer to her country.

 

It is important to mention, that besides other high authorities of the Chilean Government we were honoured by the presence of all our Latin-American distributors, mayor Chilean customers and the most important European and Chilean suppliers.

 

The day after of the ceremony, we had also the visit of our Swiss justice Minister, Mr. Christoph Blocher, his wife and the Swiss ambassador in Chile.
